Microsoft Windows 8 will be released in 2012. Developer’s Forum (Tokyo), the CEO of Microsoft (Steve Ballmer) said they are working hard on the next version of Windows, due out next year.

As for upcoming features, mentioned that the next Windows will have some sort of voice recognition and gesture recognition system.

Microsoft dreams of watching people interact with their PCs through voice and gestures. Ballmer said: “Today a PC is only open a file, blah, blah, blah, reply, reply, forward. I can not tell my team that I’m ready to go on a trip to Tokyo. We must make it so that search engines and user interface device can make decisions on our behalf”.

So we can expect a kind of “natural user interface” in Windows 8.

He also mentioned that Microsoft will announce other products such as smartphones.
