MediaTek Dimensity 8000 is coming: how it will be

During the presentation of the new flagship processor, MediaTek also hinted at a new chipset that is preparing to make its debut in the new year. This is Dimensity 8000 , which should be a lower-priced alternative to Dimensity 9000, powering some mid-range smartphones.

MediaTek has announced Dimensity 8000, the new mid-high-end processor that will debut in 2022,

Although the Chinese company has not revealed the details of this chip, some suggestions come to us from Leakster Digital Chat Station, which may have provided a fairly clear picture of its main features. However, it should be noted that, in the rumors of the past few weeks, the specifications that we will report were attributed to the Dimensity 7000 . We do not yet know if MediaTek has decided to abandon this name in favor of “8000” or, more simply, it is completely different chipsets. One thing is difficult to doubt: MediaTek in 2022 will have its say and will have no difficulty in competing with Qualcomm.

MediaTek Dimensity 8000: technical characteristics

The new chipset is expected to be made with the 5-nanometer TSMC process, which would allow it to be more powerful than the 6-nanometer Dimensity 1000 series processors . MediaTek may have made it to bring it to mid-range smartphones and still maintain respectable performance.

Dimensity 8000 could make use of the ARM V8 architecture and be an octa-core featuring four Cortex A78 cores (2.75 GHz) and four Cortex A55 cores (2.0 GHz). In support we should find the new graphics processing unit (GPU) Mali-G510 MC6, more efficient and twice as fast as the previous generation.

Additionally, if recent news is confirmed, there may also be support for fast charging up to 75W.

MediaTek Dimensity 8000: what it can do

If everything is confirmed, the MediaTek house chip should support Full HD + displays at 168 Hz and WQHD + displays at 120 Hz, characteristics perfectly in line with high-end smartphones. As for the memory, however, there will be compatibility with LPDDR5 RAM and ROM UFS 3.1.

The first to integrate Dimensity 8000 could be some Redmi and Realme models , but we will have to wait until 2022 to find out which ones. It is likely that due to the component crisis, MediaTek will be forced to delay the debut of this processor in favor of a Dimensity 9000 that promises fireworks.

All the unconventional smartphones of 2020: foldable, rollable and more

2020 was an important year in the history of smartphone technology, thanks to the introduction of unconventional devices that for the first time deviate from traditional design. Starting from the first touch screen devices, the evolution of what is now a daily and in some ways indispensable object, we have reached a new milestone, that is devices capable of flexing, bending or rolling up.

All the unconventional smartphones of 2020: from simple foldables, to rollaways and more

All the unconventional smartphones of 2020: from simple foldables, to rollaways and more

The Samsung Galaxy Z series

Evolution of the sadly unsuccessful Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z Flip is the flexible device with which Samsung has managed to redeem itself from all the mistakes of youth committed with its first flexible smartphone, representing a huge improvement over the first iteration.

Motorola’s direct rival of Moto RAZR, due to its clamshell design , represents a refined device with highly updated hardware.

Also part of the series Galaxy Z Fold 2 initially released with some software problems immediately corrected later and equipped with decidedly more mature hardware characteristics , improving the concept in every aspect, every single element and detail, which has remained unchanged.

Huawei Mate X

Huawei Mate X and Huawei Mate Xs are the two main flexible smartphones launched by the Chinese company

Huawei Mate X and Huawei Mate Xs are the two main flexible smartphones launched by the Chinese company. These are distinguished from the “classic” foldables, for being able to fold outwards , instead of inwards. Reports relating to the next generation version of the device suggest more powerful hardware features, similar to what is seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

Despite the goodness of the devices, immediately functional and powerful , the beginning of Huawei’s adventure in the whole new field of flexible smartphones was not exactly a success, as the company only managed to sell a few hundred thousand units. In April, the company also said it was going at a loss with the Huawei Mate Xs.

LG Wing

The smartphone certainly offers a completely innovative mobile experience

Among the most unconventional smartphones of 2020, LG Wing is the device characterized by the bravest design. Part of the company’s Explorer Project program , it was initially known only as a concept phone.

The device made by LG has a secondary display that can be rotated for specific use in games, videos and more. Thanks to this design, it can offer different ways of using content.

The smartphone certainly offers a completely innovative mobile experience , even if everything will depend on the success that the design will have in the market.

Microsoft Surface Duo

Evolution of the sadly unsuccessful Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z Flip is the flexible device

Announced last year along with Surface Neo and released this year, Surface Duo represents the first hybrid device of the Redmond company .

It is precisely a fablet characterized by two displays and two operating systems . It features a custom Android interface designed for most tasks.

Despite the goodness of the traditional concept broadly, also the Microsoft device has initially suffered from problems of hardware nature is not insignificant, as the rupture of the plastic around the USB port and the bulge caused by an initially defective battery.

Oppo’s rollable smartphone

The innovation train of flexible devices has only just started. The Oppo X 2021 rollable smartphone, recently shown in a video, may soon become a reality in a new commercial iteration. The rollable display is a concept that many companies have pursued, as seen in the various patents around this time.

A design that would allow an innovative interface experience and could potentially make a smartphone more practical to use.

Also note the recent patent of the Chinese company, relating to a smartphone equipped with a removable camera module , which you can see in detail in our article .

Xiaomi shows its smartphone with a front camera below the display

In recent years, smartphone companies have begun to think of more solutions that would allow them to build all-screen devices . Thus, the bezels have become thinner and thinner, while more and more notches are replaced by tiny holes. The selfie camera , however, continued to be a major problem with this project, what – somehow – had to disappear from the screen.

A few hours ago Xiaomi also presented its solution for the under-screen camera.

So we moved on to the pop-up camera , which pops out from the top edge of the smartphone when you need it; while we will soon see the launch of the world ‘s first smartphone with an under-screen camera . In very simple terms, the front camera is hidden under the screen and will only appear when needed.

A few hours ago Xiaomi also presented its solution for the under-screen camera . In a post on his blog, Xiaomi explains that with its technology the company has “significantly improved the quality of the full screen through a proprietary pixel arrangement and the optimization of the camera algorithm, allowing to achieve the same performance as the cameras. conventional “.

A few hours ago Xiaomi also presented its solution for the under-screen camera.
A few hours ago Xiaomi also presented its solution for the under-screen camera.

The new pixel arrangement used in Xiaomi’s latest solution allows the screen to filter light through the space between the sub-pixels, allowing each individual pixel to maintain a full RGB sub-pixel layout without sacrificing pixel density.

Compared to other solutions on the market, Xiaomi has doubled the number of horizontal and vertical pixels, obtaining the same pixel density across the entire panel. Therefore, the area that the camera covers shows the same brightness, color gamut and color accuracy as the rest of the display. All this, in combination with the proprietary optimization algorithm, allows the new camera under the display to offer a completely innovative photographic experience.

Samsung Galaxy A01 Core to be marketed with removable battery!

It should not be too long before the official announcement arrives on a new entry-level of the Korean giant: we are talking about Samsung Galaxy A01 Core of which we already know the model code ( SM-A013F ) and that could reserve a surprise that knows a lot about back to the origins.

Samsung Galaxy M31 with 6,000 mAh super battery

The rest of the hardware includes a configuration of four cameras at the rear, directed by a 64MP sensor. The L-shaped location of the four sensors inside the rectangular camera is similar to what we have already seen in the Galaxy A51, Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy Note 10 Lite and others.

Samsung has also confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy M31 will feature a Full HD + Super AMOLED “Infinity-U” screen.

Processor, RAM of the Samsung Galaxy M31, still to know

The rest of the technical specifications of the Samsung Galaxy M31, including the processor, RAM, storage, secondary image sensors, details on the display panel and other information, remain secret for now.

But it won’t surprise us if Samsung plans to reveal some of these details in the period before the actual launch.

It will also be interesting to see if the device will have a price similar to that of its predecessors, which could make it a worthy competitor against popular devices such as Redmi Note 8 Pro and Realme 5 Pro.

Meanwhile, Samsung will also launch the Samsung Galaxy S20 , Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Samsung Galaxy Buds + series in its “Unpacked” event. While the Galaxy S20 series will be the successor to last year’s Galaxy S10 line, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will be the second generation foldable mobile phone of the Korean giant.

It will have a shell shape like the folding Moto Razr 2019. As for the Galaxy Buds +, they will be the company’s next-generation wireless headphones and the successor of last year’s Galaxy Wireless wireless headphones.

New Xiaomi Mi 10: outstanding in almost everything except the price

The cancellation of the MWC 2020, has temporarily delayed the presentation of the new terminals that the companies that had not canceled their presence at the fair, had planned to present with hype and saucer. Fortunately, we have not had to wait long to see the new Mi 10 family from Xiaomi.

The new Mi 10 family of Xiaomi follows in the footsteps of the fantastic Mi 9, in its different versions that it presented last year, implementing the most current technology such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, 12 GB of AMOLED screen RAM (manufactured by Samsung) and with a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

Unlike last year, the Mi 10 range consists only of two terminals: Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. The differences between both terminals are found both in the photographic section, in the storage space and battery capacity (although it is minimal, there it is).

Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro specifications

Samsung has got away with it and the notch is less and less present in today's smartphones

Design of the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro

In case anyone had any doubts, Samsung has got away with it and the notch is less and less present in today’s smartphones. Xiaomi has chosen, like Samsung (who in turn is the manufacturer of the screens of these terminals) to implement a hole in the upper left of the screen to integrate the front camera. Pink, blue and gray are the three colors in which this terminal is available.

Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro cameras

Just as Samsung has implemented in the whole new S20 range that it presented a few days ago, Xiaomi offers us a main sensor of 108 mp in all models. So far we find similarities in this section. While the Xiaomi Mi 10 incorporates a bokeh camera of 2 mp, a wide angle of 13 mpx and a macro of 2, the Mi 10 Pro, offers us a bokeh sensor of 12 mpx, a wide angle of 20 mp and a telephoto lens of 10 increase.

Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro prices

Mi 10 range consists only of two terminals: Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro

At the moment we do not know the official prices in Spain of the new highest range of Xiaomi, but we can get an idea of ??the price at which they will reach the Spanish and Latin American market. The Xiaomi Mi 10 has a starting price, at the exchange of 540 euros (4,099 yuan) , while the Pro version starts at 665 euros (4,999 yuan).

These prices represent an increase of 21% in the case of Xiaomi Mi 10 against Mi 9 and 34% in the case of Mi 9 Pro and Mi 10 Pro. The fault is due to support for 5G networks, better screen, better memory … We are what Samsung offers us today, since Apple still does not offer support for 5G networks in any of its terminals.

The next February 23 will be officially presented for the rest of the world, it will be then when we know the final price of the new highest range of Xiaomi for 2020-

Not suitable for all pockets

Xiaomi arrived at the market with very low prices for the specifications they offered, with which it has managed to retain a large number of users. However, and as OnePlus is doing and at the time Huawei made, each new version, especially those that offers us the highest specifications, have a higher price, practically standing at the most economical high-end models of Samsung and Apple.

At the same price, or for a little more, the quality that we will find in both Samsung and Apple terminals we will not find in any other brand . It may be that the strategy of selling practically at cost to try to build loyalty to a niche market is not more appropriate. Two clear examples are found, once again, in both Samsung and Apple.

Best Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus

Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is one of the most spectacular smartphone under the point of view of the screen. First of all, it has one of the larger displays that can be found throughout the market, with as many as 6.2 inches diagonally. At the same time, however, it has the very reduced size compared to any other device with the same size of the display, which makes it super revolutionary. The problem is that though this curved screen, covering practically the whole front part of the device, it is highly subject to damage of any kind and size.

Display Protection Crystal Clear Invisible Samsung Galaxy

It ‘s true, the glass on the screen of this device is covered by protective Gorilla Glass 5 of Corning, but this does not mean that it is indestructible. Just a well-aimed crash, a fall or the like so that it can result in damage that could be very serious. The damage is less severe for sure a scratch or a crack on the glass that at most may minimally affect the viewing experience. But there are much more severe and debilitating that perhaps you are not even aware of. Think, for example, if you go to break the crystals of this panel: you may get a whole screen or a portion of the screen that does not display the images.

Or, you could also break the touch screen , and in this case you could not interact with the smartphone. Now with the touch screen gets pretty much everything, the physical buttons are minimized and you can not even navigate the user interface with them. Adjusting a display is often a real tragedy, because in service centers you can also ask for hundreds of Euros for replacement or just to buy the new glass. Imagine then if we are talking about Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. And remember, warranty does not cover physical damage, but only internal damage and defects.

WARNING: the films themselves are not able to completely protect the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus! The device absolutely necessary also a cover! Discover now the best through the following article: Cover for Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus for Best protection.
