Westinghouse is preparing to launch a new line of HDTV



Westinghouse has announced that it will formally unveil its 2012 line of HDTVs at CES 2012 in Las Vegas.

The new models include a wider range of sizes, from 19 to 70 inches, including traditional CCFL-based LED backlit displays, with 3D capable TVs and a thin bezel design.

The larger models in the series are the UW70 70-inch and 55 inch EW55, both with LED backlight and 1080p resolution. The company says the panels are able to offer refresh rates of 120 Hz and response times of 8 ms.

The 46-inch UW46 is the first ultra-thin HDTV with LED backlight of the company, which offers a 1080p resolution and a response time of 6.5ms, while the 47-inch W47 has a passive 3D presentation time 6 ms response.

The mid-range offerings include EW40 40-inch, 1080p resolution and 6.5ms response time, along with the variant EW32 32-inch with a resolution of 720p. The smaller models, such as the EW24 and EW22, will be marketed as small TVs that can also be used for the game or computer screens.

Westinghouse has not announced specific dates or pricing information shipments of its new 2012 line HDTV. Perhaps during the show at CES the company will provide more details.
