WAT: the lamp that runs on water

WAT lamp concept works with water. It is not tidal but really drops

WAT lamp concept works with water. It is not tidal but really drops. WAT was designed by the French Manon Leblanc, designer keen on decoration. To use this lamp, pour a little water in its upper part and then turns its little hand crank to turn on. How one does lights a lamp with water? The answer is the chemistry. First, WAT has a hydro-electric battery made from a carbon rod coated with magnesium powder. When water comes into contact with the battery, it generates an electrochemical reaction that produces light.

WAT concept has already won first prize at the CINNA FRENCH HOUSE Design Contest 2011.
