The cancellation of the MWC 2020, has temporarily delayed the presentation of the new terminals that the companies that had not canceled their presence at the fair, had planned to present with hype and saucer. Fortunately, we have not had to wait long to see the new Mi 10 family from Xiaomi.
The new Mi 10 family of Xiaomi follows in the footsteps of the fantastic Mi 9, in its different versions that it presented last year, implementing the most current technology such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, 12 GB of AMOLED screen RAM (manufactured by Samsung) and with a refresh rate of 90 Hz.
Unlike last year, the Mi 10 range consists only of two terminals: Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. The differences between both terminals are found both in the photographic section, in the storage space and battery capacity (although it is minimal, there it is).
Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro specifications
Design of the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro
In case anyone had any doubts, Samsung has got away with it and the notch is less and less present in today’s smartphones. Xiaomi has chosen, like Samsung (who in turn is the manufacturer of the screens of these terminals) to implement a hole in the upper left of the screen to integrate the front camera. Pink, blue and gray are the three colors in which this terminal is available.
Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro cameras
Just as Samsung has implemented in the whole new S20 range that it presented a few days ago, Xiaomi offers us a main sensor of 108 mp in all models. So far we find similarities in this section. While the Xiaomi Mi 10 incorporates a bokeh camera of 2 mp, a wide angle of 13 mpx and a macro of 2, the Mi 10 Pro, offers us a bokeh sensor of 12 mpx, a wide angle of 20 mp and a telephoto lens of 10 increase.
Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro prices
At the moment we do not know the official prices in Spain of the new highest range of Xiaomi, but we can get an idea of ??the price at which they will reach the Spanish and Latin American market. The Xiaomi Mi 10 has a starting price, at the exchange of 540 euros (4,099 yuan) , while the Pro version starts at 665 euros (4,999 yuan).
These prices represent an increase of 21% in the case of Xiaomi Mi 10 against Mi 9 and 34% in the case of Mi 9 Pro and Mi 10 Pro. The fault is due to support for 5G networks, better screen, better memory … We are what Samsung offers us today, since Apple still does not offer support for 5G networks in any of its terminals.
The next February 23 will be officially presented for the rest of the world, it will be then when we know the final price of the new highest range of Xiaomi for 2020-
Not suitable for all pockets
Xiaomi arrived at the market with very low prices for the specifications they offered, with which it has managed to retain a large number of users. However, and as OnePlus is doing and at the time Huawei made, each new version, especially those that offers us the highest specifications, have a higher price, practically standing at the most economical high-end models of Samsung and Apple.
At the same price, or for a little more, the quality that we will find in both Samsung and Apple terminals we will not find in any other brand . It may be that the strategy of selling practically at cost to try to build loyalty to a niche market is not more appropriate. Two clear examples are found, once again, in both Samsung and Apple.
