Mobius is an application that allows you to view an ultrasound with a smartphone. It will soon be marketed in the U.S. by the company Mobis. The company just received authorization from the FDA, the regulatory body for care and medications. In fact, we owe this invention to two men: William Richard and David Zar.

For the program to work, you need a wand, some gel and a smartphone with Toshiba for OS, Windows Phone. The phone is connected to an ultrasound probe. No need to be gynecologist or midwife to use the application Mobius. The device uses ultrasound images recorded by the user are sent to a hospital where specialists make a diagnosis. Initially, the project did not include smartphones but the rapid evolution of these influenced the two scientists.

Mobius will be sold between $ 7,000 and $ 8,000 (5180 € to 5900 €), which is considerably less expensive than conventional ultrasound systems.
