Samsung introduced the Gear IconX headphones last year, completely wireless and with features for tracking physical activity. The successors of wireless headsets made in Samsung today have been announced, keeping the same name but acquiring new features.
For the new Gear IconX, Samsung has decided to refine the design without disturbing it: the headphones have been made lighter and more ergonomic than their predecessors, and are easier to use.
The new wireless headsets measure 18.9 x 21.8 x 22.8 mm and weigh only 8 grams each. They are equipped with 4 GB internal memory and can connect to other devices via bluetooth v4.2 . They feature a 82mAh internal battery , which promises up to 4 hours of call and up to 7 hours of music playback, much better than their predecessors.
The earphones are compatible with each Android 4.4 device and come with a case that also acts as a charging dock and comes with a 340mAh battery . The new Gear IconX also features an accelerometer and heart rate sensor to monitor physical activity across S-Health.
The earphones automatically light up as soon as they fit into the ears and users can control playback through integrated capacitive keys, while the Voice Guide provides voice feedback on the activities performed.
As expected, the earphones will be able to interact with the Bixby voice server on Galaxy S8, S8 + and Note 8. The new Gear IconX will be sold in black, gray and pink at a price of 229, 99 euros and will arrive on the market next November.
