BenQ BlueCore LX60ST and LW61ST
BenQ has announced two projectors to laser light source, the LX60ST and LW61ST, which share most of their data sheets. A laser light source (as opposed to laser projection process entirely) has the advantage of offering the advantages of the LED without its main disadvantage: low light. The laser therefore offers great endurance, 10 000 h at 2000 ANSI lumens and even 20,000 hours in eco, a high reactivity with a start and stop an instant and, not to spoil, a rate record claimed contrast 80 000:1 and a support for the 3D (active glasses optional). Both models are identical except that one (the LX60ST) houses a DLP solution delivering an XGA resolution ( 1024 x 768 pixels) at 4:3 ratio, while the other (the LW61ST) provides a definition WXGA (1280 x 800 pixels) in the ratio 16:10. Designed for office use, especially in education. They offer a short-range projection of video inputs and HDMI 1.3, VGA, S-Video, composite, but also Ethernet and USB, and supports a pair of speakers 10 W each. Function Eco Blank displaying a blank screen and reducing the brightness to 10% finally allows teachers to attract the attention of their students. The BenQ BlueCore LX60ST and LW61ST will be sold by the end March retail price of 2,200 euros.

Acer K520

Designed also for office use, the Acer K520 is a runner up behind the BenQ LX60ST. It adopts the same process with an XGA DLP laser light source, claimed the same maximum brightness of 2000 ANSI lumens, the same refresh rate of 120 Hz for 3D active and a contrast ratio of 000:1 similar 100. It is however stick to a more common connectivity with HDMI, VGA, composite, and does not carry its own speakers. Release date and price for the sale of this Acer K520 were not communicated.
